The School of Education is saddened by the horrific attacks in Israel and the continuing violence in the Middle East.
In the School of Education, we aim to create a safe and inclusive environment for all members of our education community. We are aware that many in our community are directly impacted by the violence and loss that is taking place in Israel and Gaza. In an attempt to support members of our community and the PK-12 students with whom they work, we have included some resources below.
Educators and caregivers are faced with the challenge of explaining violence and war to children. Although difficult, these conversations are extremely important and in the context of human history help us work toward peace.
Below are resources that may help children feel more secure and understand the world in which they live. These resources are intended to provide access to information, and educators are encouraged to determine which ones are most appropriate for their students.
