Erin Blair joined the School of Education in fall 2012. Blair has worked in education for 20 years as an elementary teacher in general education and as a teacher and program specialist in special education. Blair earned a bachelor’s degree in child development and liberal studies from Fresno State, a multiple subject teaching credential from Chapman University, and both a master’s degree in education with a special education emphasis and a clear education specialist credential from Cal Poly.
Blair taught first, second and fourth grades in Gonzales, Calif., and has since worked for the Templeton Unified School District in Templeton, Calif., where she currently serves as a program specialist. In Templeton, Blair works closely with the special education director to ensure the development and implementation of legally sound, comprehensive programs for children with autism and/or challenging behavior. She is working toward national board certification in behavior analysis.
Blair has a split assignment, continuing to work half time for Templeton Unified while working half time in special education coordination at Cal Poly. Blair and her family live in Templeton, and her son, Ross, will attend Cal Poly in the fall and play football for the Mustangs.
