It is an honor to be a part of Cal Poly’s School of Education team. Our school prepares terrific teachers, administrators and counselors who go on to serve throughout California and the nation, making a positive contribution to the lives of thousands of children and young people.
From my perspective, there are three essential strengths of our school:
First, we have terrific students. They are bright, motivated and committed. They work hard to learn their craft, and they share a desire to make their mark by serving society.
Second, we have a cadre of exceptional faculty and staff who are here, above all, to serve our future teachers and school professionals. They have practical knowledge of K-12 schools and students, they combine strong educational credentials with a great deal of practical field experience, and they truly care about training first-rate graduates.
Finally, we get outstanding support from K-12 schools in our region. Teachers and site administrators provide our future teachers and school professionals with the field experience that is so critical to successful career preparation. They play a critical role in shaping well-prepared graduates in all our programs.
This combination of terrific students, faculty and K-12 school partners defines Cal Poly’s School of Education. It is a privilege to be associated with everyone in the school.
