Dr. Sonia Ramrakhiani (she, her) is an Associate Professor in the Higher Education Counseling/Student Affairs master’s program in the School of Education. As a counselor, she has served in various roles and settings, including outpatient, in-home, residential and community college settings. Her research and service agenda focuses on social justice, advocacy and multicultural issues and experiences of underrepresented and minoritized students and faculty. As a servant leader, she hopes to empower, support, and collaborate with colleagues and students on social justice initiatives. In addition, she has experience with grant writing and has assisted in securing a grant in using a culturally-informed strengths-based approach with underrepresented minoritized faculty in STEM.
