The focus of Module 1 is on the quality of the classroom environment established by a teacher. This module aligns with section B ‘Classroom Environment’ and prioritized skill B1 ‘Creating an Environment of Respect and Rapport’ on the SOE Observation Tool. Module content centers around two main goals.
- Teacher ability to identify and explain what makes for a respectful and supportive classroom environment
- Teacher ability to identify ways to support students in interacting respectfully with teachers and each other
