Jesse Sanford (Multiple Subject Credential, 2012) recently received the 2014 Distinguished New Educator Award for Santa Barbara County. Sanford is in his second year of teaching at Mary Buren Elementary School in the Guadalupe Union School District.
Sanford is a remarkable educator who uses technology and student-centered teaching practices to engage and motivate his second graders. He has shown excellent leadership in his district by implementing a student council program, coaching basketball after school, collaborating with colleagues, and being a strong advocate for his students. We would like to congratulate Jesse Sanford on his successes during his first two years of teaching and wish him the best in his future endeavors.
