This Cal Poly MSTEP Residency program is funded by a California State Residency grant and is in partnership with the following districts: Santa Maria Bonita, Guadalupe Union and Orcutt Union. If not selected for this residency program, you may still be admitted to Cal Poly main campus program.
The residency follows a unique model with courses offered in the evenings in Santa Maria. Candidates in the residency program receive a $33,000 stipend during the program along with a commitment to completing their student teaching in one of the partner districts above and a 4-year commitment to teaching in a partner district upon completion of the program. To be eligible for the residency program, applicants must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
The residency program admits once a year with applications due on 11/1. The program lasts 2 or 3 terms, depending on each applicant’s previous coursework.
This is a supplemental application only. Applicants must also complete the applicable Cal State Apply application for the Multiple Subject Program at Cal Poly SLO and will be required to upload this form to the Documents section.
