School of Education Hosts Night in Rome Fundraiser

On November 2, the School of Education hosted a “Night in Rome” to raise funds for student scholarships.

The event was held at Café Roma and included dinner, drinks and both a silent and live auction. Local businesses and theaters generously donated prizes for the auction, and Jim Brescia, superintendent of Cayucos School District, served as auctioneer.

Three former teaching candidates who now teach in local schools spoke about how scholarships had helped them during their time at Cal Poly.

The generosity of the attendees was remarkable. The school raised more than $10,000, which will provide $500 scholarships for more than 20 students.

The School of Education greatly appreciates all those who support our programs, teacher candidates and students. We look forward to our next scholarship event, and hope to see you there.
